OK so maybe I oversold this post with the title. This tiny vehicle is not a real train, the open air cars were very small and there was no first class car available for us. On top of that the audio guide was in mono and mostly unintelligible. But for 5 Euros each it was a bargain! We rode through the old quarter of town which is older than the old town, but none of the buildings survived the 1813 battle so the old quarter is old in name only. Then we drove back to old town and almost over the river. The architecture was very nice ion all parts of town. we were freezing due to the incessant wind coming off the water. Now and then we would drive along a sliver of sunshine and get a spoon full of warmth. We headed back along roads that allowed us to be in the sun. We finally got warmed up back at the apartment.
The walkway to along the beach
So many great buildings
We could say here!
So many finials
These globes are a bit of a landmark
We really like St Sebastian
Weeee, we have topped 10 km/hr
A very fancy gate
I like this architectural highlight, the tree branches ands the pigeon helps
Bridge adornments at each corner
Griffins
The river is flowing fast
It is clear and clean
Back to the apartment and we see the fountain backlit
Finally a good picture of the cherry trees in bloom!
