9 April 2023 Bilbao to Barcelona: A Long Road Trip

We got an early start to a long day.  The car was packed and we were on the road at 9:30 in the morning.  It was supposed to be a 6 hour drive but since it was Easter Sunday the drive was only going to be 5.5 hours.  We stopped a few times for gas, lunch and to walk out the kinks.  The landscape varied wildly from lush spring greens up north to snow capped mountains to desert like scrub lands in the center.  There was a section with large weathered sandstone bluffs and little vegetation that reminded us of the grand canyon area.  Just as we reached the Barcelona area we saw a line of jagged mountains.  Our lunch spot was very busy with families also eating and kids playing on the playground.  our pre made salads still required assembly.  It was a good thing that Leslie was wearing balsamic vinegar black as the spilled dressing blended in nicely with her outfit.  We checking in to our AirBnB easlily and got settled quickly.  We are very happy with this selection, it is big, it has a view, it is relatively quiet as well.

A common wood pigeon watched us eat our lunch

This rest stop had everything!  A playground, a shop, a gas station and picnic tables

Spots of vinaigrette can still be seen on the green lid
