We went to BLT-DC Steaks for our big celebratory dinner. It is a serious steak house and the menu provides a map to all the tastiness. We wanted to treat the kids to some fine dining and so we asked that they bring nice clothes along with them. They knocked it out of the park and we were the best dressed group in the restaurant. Steak was the theme for the night with everyone at the table ordering one for themselves with the exception of TeamLeip who shared o a 36 ounce porterhouse. They had a few new gins to try so I ordered a GnT with the Devil's Bathtub Gin. I could have ordered it neat or on the rocks with a big ice cube. I wanted it with tonic but I also wanted the big ice cube so Kevin made it so. However when I ordered a second one with Bols Genevere Gin I got the big ice cube but no tonic this time! Whooof, straight gin on ice was a new experience for me. I did not dislike it, in face I may try this again in the future. The staff was diligent in the patron's napkin management. Anytime one of us would get up from the table, one of the staff would come over and fold the napkin just so. It became a game for Jaxson and Zachary as they got up four times and would watch from across the dining room just to watch the napkin folding. We worked diligently on our steaks and made good headway but no one was able to finish their whole slab. That turned out to be a good thing since the platter of birthday desserts was immense. There were six mini cheesecakes, six chocolate and peanut butter cups, two large angle food cake with lemon drizzle and a giant cream filled thing the size and shape of a large empanada. Wow is all I can say! We highly recommend this steakhouse and everyone agreed this was the best dining experience of the entire trip. Five stars all around!
