So many surprises here for us. I expected to see "The Persistence of Time", featured above, but not as a rug. There were pieces I knew but many items I had never seen before. Much of the work came from Dali's personal collection and so they are less well known. We wandered all through the museum and were blown away. Other surprises were the jewelry designed by Dali, the absolutely huge canvases, the Cadillac in the courtyard and all the nooks and crannies that had art.
I have to study this
Birth of Venus
Venus de Milo and friends
It is so hot, our noses are melting
Pearly white teeth
Time to cry
Disco angles
Talk about long legs!
Two paintings on the edges and two mirrors in the center
Punking the artist Velaquez
The book of Salvador Dali
A massive painting on the ceiling of Dali and his wife Gala
Here is Dali with arms outstretched and his mustache at attention
Gala get lost a bit in the design
Some melted clocks
Very big feet!
Deconstructed spheres
Bread on head, no bread on head
This reminds me of a zoetrope
up the stairs we go
A whole wing of Jewish themed paintings. Must have been an anti-Nazi effort
Another item off in a corner
These rocks were placed in the correct position so that Antoni Pitxot could paint then
And the painting by Pitxot who was one of Dali's greatest friend
Portrait of a stoner in stone
Painting of stacked rocks
Reminds me of Matisse
The red velvet could be pushed this way and that to make a design
Different wings would contain different periods of Dali's work
An iridescent series
Flying twins
A fat cat
A classic surrealistic work
More fun with mirrors
A self portrait
A long recliner
A May West portrait
The lips are couch sized
Nose and fireplace, how convenient
May West's hair
Animatronic?
Step back to see the face pattern
A classic double image, Abe Lincoln and a crucifix are both in this picture
That is how I feel when i am hungry
