We spent the last few Malaysia days doing wash, packing the clean clothes and printing things out for Japan. The last seven weeks in Malaysia were fun but Penang Island was too hot for our tastes. We may return but probably not for an extended stay. Our driver got us at 9 AM for a quick one hour flight to Singapore. We were able to check our bags all the way from Penang to Osaka, what a bonus! The bags weighed too much so we had to pay bit of a premium. Since we will be in Singapore for less than 24 hours and flying Singapore Air on both flights we were able to check the bags through. The Crown Plaza at the airport was again our destination for a one night stay. We were able to find it much quicker this time, as we took the long way around the circular Jewel building last time. This time we got to explore the Jewel and the fantastic fountain in the center. It is the worlds largest and tallest indoor fountain, Singapore does not build anything that is not the world's "-est" in some way or another. It is called the Rain Vortex because it actually uses rainwater for the fountain. We stopped at the Burger and Lobster place for cocktails and burgers, not our best Singapore meal, merely adequate. Back at the room we tried to get to sleep early, our 5:30 AM wake up was looming large.
