We were headed to the boat tour when we saw a mass of humans ahead of us. We could not fathom why so very many folks had congregated. We got closer asked a fellow spectator and she told us that it was the graduation ceremony of Osaka University just letting out of the Osaka Jo Hall, a large concert venue located in the Osaka Castle Park. The male graduates were all fancy in suits and ties and the female graduates wore elaborate traditional hakama and kimonos. The parents, grand parents, friends and classmates were all there to celebrate. We saw so many different hakama each one more beautiful and elaborate than the next. In the midst of it all a truck decided that it needed to drive right through the masses of people. Several officers with megaphones cleared the crown so the truck could drive through. We stood and watched until it was time to head over to the boat.
Graduates, parents and grandparents
We stood on the bridge over the river to watch
Group photos
Some were more happy than the others
We were keeping an eye on the dock
It was jam packed with people
Floral motifs were popular on the hatama
Flowers on the hakama, flowers in their hair and bouquets of flowers in their hands
March is the end of the term and April begins the next term
The five amigos
She seem apprehensive to walk through the puddles of water
Many fancy purses too
So very pretty
The people are everywhere
Smiles all around
So many folks
From very fancy to subdued
The only person we saw with the traditional wooden sandels
