A short walk from the shrine is the Sumiyashi Train Station and Sumiyashi Park. Lots of families were walking in the park. Some of the kids had small nets and were playing in the water, perhaps scooping up tadpoles. Other families were picnicking in a roped off area with their tents and bicycles. There were several planted flower beds which had very pretty blooms. Quite interesting to see ornamental cabbages, seen above.
