The SkyBridge is a huge structure hanging from a single steel support pylon. The pylon is almost 300 feet tall so the suspended deck has to be 200 feet about the ground level. The walkway is 410 feet long but only 5.5 feet wide. It seems very strong and solid from far away but once you are on it, it is bouncing and there are glass panels that show the ground so very far away. Not made for the faint of heart. We walked across it through the mists that were rising up from the valley below and it was nice to cool off. The wind picked up a bit and so did my unease so we headed back down.
The central pylon and the cables holding up the walkway
Technically it is a bridge not a walkway
Great to be up high
Up in the mist
This is the second leg of the cable car
There are two ways to get to the Sky Bridge, the Jungle trek or an inclinator, an inclined elevator called the skyGlide
Getting into the SkyGlide
Down we go
Looking sturdy enough
From this angle it goes out into nothingness
The wind is picking up
Very awe inspiring
Leslie is leaving me in the dust as my unease grows
Hundreds of feet below
Cables everywhere
The tiny cable cars
A boat passing by
All supported by this single pylon
Very dense rain forest
Like a maypole
Hurry up says Leslie
400 feet of bouncing and swaying
The rugged rock faces are the oldest exposed rock in Malaysia
The track back up
A net to catch what?
Back down we go
This is a very long single span
Our destination off in the distance
Almost done
last view from the SlyCab
We needed to stop into the 7-11 for some hipster styling gel since th wind messed up my hair
Odd mustache on this monkey
Umbrellas for shade
