25 February 2025 Bangkok: Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles

There was more to be seen outside the walls of the temple complex. so we proceeded out of the gates.  The next stop was the Queen Sirkit Textile museum.  Many of the Queen's own outfits were on display as well as a brief history of Thai textiles.  There were looms and swatches of fabric  and samples of clothes.  Most intriguing was a large collection of ink-stamps made to show off the Thai customary fabric designs.  There were over 150 different designs.  I stamped many of them just for fun.  Three of us were at the stations stamping away and trying not to get in each other's way.  Then we were outside and ready to tackle the ride back on the ferry.

Outside the walls the grandeur does not stop

Still large decorated buildings abound

Elegant and stylish

The king had a few outfits in the museum

Older swaths of fabric demonstrated the weaving techniques

Different styles for different occasions

None of these outfits seem to have taken into account the heat

Regardless they were all very pretty

These are stamps that show fabric designs

The stamps were available for anyone who had paper to stamp on

I bought a pad that I stamped several designs

Now I am using the pad to draw love notes for Leslie

I love the new love note notebook

The notebook has one of the fabric stamps on the top.  More fabric stamps are on the piece of paper
