3-4 August 2022 Toronto: Trip Tune Ups

Leslie's gardening project is coming along nicely.  We  have been in Toronto, on the go, for two weeks now.  It was time to take a day off and do some "tune up"' work on our future destinations.  This trip is like a classic steam train, it is magnificent and very impressive to watch it go by, but it requires regular maintenance to keep it on the tracks.  We were able to book places in England for next July and August.  These dates had just come open after we got into August.  We were also able to book our flights from Auckland to Madrid for next February.  These required additional effort as we are trying to work in a "round the world" ticket.  That saved us considerable amount of money in 2019 when we booked that type of ticket, so we wanted to use this again.  Unfortunately it did not work out this time so we will have to use it later.  Once these flights were nailed down, it opened up the opportunity to book more flights: Madrid to Marbella in Spain and the flights from Barcelona to DC in May.  So we went through all the possibilities and opportunities and decided on the best ticket values.  We had to do a tune up on me as well.  My foot had been hurting me for s while so off we went to a Chiropodist, a Doctors Office and an Imaging Center. The Chiropodist is the British name for a Podiatrist, but in Canada the Podiatrist can't order any imaging procedures.  That explains the visit to the MD who ordered a ultrasound.  Long story short, the imaging tech saw some extra bone. Still forthcoming is the determination of what to do about it.  At least my foot got a rest while we were doing all the research and the calling of the airlines.  Then to celebrate these accomplishments we went out to dinner.  This was our first dinner out since we had arrived in Toronto and only the second time we at out at all.  This is the brilliance of the AirBnB stay.  We can cook for ourselves and save boatloads of money.  But when we want to, we can go out to a fine Sushi restaurant.
