Next to the old Baseball Stadium and Olympic Stadium before that, the Botanical Gardens span a huge area. We walked through some and took the mini tram through some other parts. It was not a fancy tram, just a golf cart pulling a string of lawn chairs. A big Shout Out to the Japanese Garden and the Aquatic Garden. The Exhibition Flower Garden ended next to the experimental vegetable garden. pumpkins, tomatoes and squash, oh my! The cloud cover kept the late summer heat down. With the car, getting around is easy-ish. No matter where you go, there are folks that you need to dodge around.
A stately lion, king of the jungle, if the jungle was the savannah where lions lived.
We will never tire of looking at flowers,
they continually delight
Tai chi tea
Up comes the young lily pad
and it unfolds into this shape
Delicate and huge at the same time
The Aquatic Garden was a mini water purification plant
At the Aquatic Garden it was possible to see how each enclosure could be flooded to match the needs of the plants within each enclosure
A hive of activity here at the Botanical Gardens
Flipping us the bird

My sweetie!
A hungry beast loose in the gardens
He may be approaching the bursting point
Purple giant beans
So many different bees, flies, wasps and beetles on this dill
Tomatoes ...

Happy flowers
and even happier flowers
so brilliantly stripped
Pumpkins and squashes
