10 July 2023 Sunderland: A Early Trip to Newcastle and a Walk to the Whitburn Bay

Newcastle has some cool old places to wander about within.  Wandering was what we had time to do once the allotted 1.5 hours at the doctor was completed after only15 minutes!  We took a pre booked taxi in the morning so we would be sure to get to our 8:50 appointment on time.  Of course we got there early and were done by 8:55.  The metro was close by so we could walk to the station and before you know it we are getting off at Monument Station, drinking tea and eating pastries at the Flower Café.  The people were walking by totally unaware that we were inventing lives for them and putting them into fictional existential dilemmas.  We snooped into many shops and a few large arcades.  A whole world of shops were available from cheese shops, butchers, greeting card sales, hat shops, vintage rock and roll swag, veggie stalls, dumpling shops, dress shops, and sandwich shops.  Great fun looking at stuff.  We went to the pharmacy and they filled all of our prescriptions and we were back on the train.  After some lunch we took a stroll to Whitburn bay.  Lots of wildflowers, a white lighthouse and walkways all along the shore
