Nowhere in Ambleside was safe from our megandering. We crossed the town from Northeast to Southwest and then some. At times our progress was stopped by signs and barriers. Forced to backtrack, our path just gave us new streets to walk along. At one point I had to duck as the small passageway was only five and a half feet tall I had to duck the entire nine feet of the passageway. We eventually found a large water wheel along the creek. We popped into shops, sniffed the goodies, crossed at unauthorized crossing points, peeked at the flowers and posed with ogres. My Shrek selfie reminded me of my days of wearing green toenail polish. Those were the days of wine and orchids. What a great way to finish our time in the Lakes District.
We saw the top of the heads of both King Charles III and Queen Camilla. They are hiding in plain sight behind a very large hedge
We tried to put together a puzzle but it was a level 4000
Beer is the universal language
Packed with retail opportunities
Stone buildings everywhere
Fishy Art
A stone bridge and the creek
Right in the center of town we found a quiet place
A peaceful place
Water power
Down at the old mill stream
where I first met you
With your eyes of blue
Fiona!!!
