19 July 2023 Ambleside: Its Electric Oogie Woogie

We were going to take the large steamer as our water excursion on lake Windemere.  It was pretty expensive 60 GBP, but what are you going to do?  Luckily we saw that they had small electric boats for the two of us to rent.  It was only 10 GBP more than the large excursion boat.  For two hours of Captain Polly and her First Mate Mr. Windemere, it was a steal.  We scooted along at 2 knots top speed leaving the geese in our wake.  The geese that were not headed our way were left behind but those geese going our way easily passed up by honking all the way.  There were lots of watercraft today.  We saw steam vessels, pedal boats, paddle boards, electric boats, sail boats, even a hydro foil.  To top it all off a tilt rotor plane making a huge noise flew over top of us.  What a great day.
