A very busy day for us. First we started with a snorkel trip, set up to start at 9:30 AM and then a flight later that day at 6:30PM. We got onto our boat with Captain Joe and he was a hoot. There were 20 or more folks milling about who had booked the catamaran day trip and they all boarded while we were filling out our forms. They took off but we soon zoomed past them on our way to the snorkel spot. The snorkeling was fantastic with some of the clearest water ever. After this stop we headed to a tiny spit of sand for more snorkeling. There were six birds, two great crested terns and four black napped terns and us on the island. We also snorkeled here and saw lots of tiny fish. the wind picked up and we headed back on some choppy seas. Out late check out was at 1:30 so we showered, tried to dry off our stuff as much as possible and then headed out to the airport.
Twenty five folks were on this shared experience
Chugging along at a snails pace, not our cup of tea
Passing the North Point where we said our vows
Bigger ships out here
Passing some of the outer islands
An odd looking boat, half boat half landing craft
As close to this island as we were going to get
We pulled up alongside
It is a gas station!
Our snorkel spot
Divers to port
Clear waters
Lots of large corals
Layers of coral 12 feet tall
The boat
A school of fish and some purple tipped coral
Deep and clear
Drifting along
Iridescent
These little fish are like leaves on a tree
That is a serious blue
Pancakes anyone?
The blue eyes on the lower fish are striking
Yellow fish blue fish
Big purple coral
A multitude of corals
A nice hideaway
Nice stripes
So many brightly colored corals
A little pufferfish
Huge coral
It goes on and on
Our spit of sand
Terns!
Perhaps a fishing platform?
These fish found a crab to eat
A little puffer in the sand
Yummy sea cucumber
Nice colors
Sea lettuce?
Angle
Not even one inch long
Love the colors on this fish
A little bugger than the others, maybe 2 inches
You are a star!
This fish had dens that they would dart into if we got too close
Some jet skis
Back at the opening to the lagoons
Great water color
White Faced Heron
Nice Fiji landscape
Casava roots?
Almost to the airport
Bula indeed!
The sun is going down as we are going up in the air
Leaving Fiji
It has been 2 years and 220 days since we began our Migration
