25 January 2025 Da Nang: Another Crowded Flight

We were flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on the Saturday before the Lunar New Year.  This was not something we considered when booking and probably not so wise.  This is because so many families are trying to get to their home towns to celebrate the New Year.  We saw so many little kids running all around the airport trying to escape the grasp of their caregivers.  The lounge was so full we had to stand for 15 minutes watching for anyone who might be leaving.  Finally we got two seats next to each other and we stayed there for three hours.  Of course we got to the airport early, too early even by our standards.  We did not read the 2 AM email that told us of the delay in our flight, as if we would have been awake to read it.  We already had a driver scheduled for a 9 AM pick up so we were a bit stuck with that time.  It turns out that every single flight on the monitor was delayed so we had plenty of company.  As we were ;lined up to board, we were hopeful that the jet way directly in front of our gate was going to lead to the plane that we were going to fly on but that was not the case.  We had to take a set of stairs down to a bus that drove out into the hinterlands of the airport to deliver us to another set of stairs leading up into our plane.  We finally arrived in De Nang two hours after our original landing time.  We got to our place and it was a delightful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom with a sliver of an ocean view.  We took a Grab (Asia Uber) to a hyper-mart grocery store.  It was hectic to say the least.  But we wanted to stock up before any of the shops close for the New Year Celebration
