Above is the New Caledonia Crow, reported to be the smartest bird in the world. All that means is that it the smartest bird of the birds that have been extensively studied which really knocks down the distinction by a few notches. We went back to the zoo specifically to try to see this bird as it is only found on New Caledonia, an endemic bird, and it is not likely I will get another chance to see it in the wild. There were many other birds that we saw while there and I will share them with you. Then it was back to the apartment to pack all our stuff for tomorrows departure.
