Our game drive started out with the sunrise as usual. The animals were lit up by the rising sun and it was super cool. We saw hippos, more elephants and more antelopes. The three small lion cubs were out with their uncles getting their morning drinks. The baboons were calling again, they just don't like lions. We carried on past more elephants to get to the river where we saw crocodiles and water birds. The paradise flycatcher was a stinker. For a bird with such a long tail, it was hard to get a photograph. I took 10 or so shots but got two good pictures. The Malachite Kingfisher pictured above was a real treat. It is a rare bird to begin with and this one sat for us as if it was a portrait session. What a great opportunity. It will smack the fish on a branch before swallowing it whole. This day was filled with such great animal sightings. We spent 10 minutes or more watching a young leopard. We were 6 feet away and he did not leave the entire time we were watching.
From our deck I see the sun inthe sky and on the river
