We spent most of the day on the 12th flying into Cape Town.. A bush Plane to Maun and then an Airlink plane to Cape Town. The Belmond had provided a car to get us to the Mount Nelson, but it took some extra packing to fit everything in. We were met at the front desk by Crystal, an absolutely delightful woman, and two glasses of sparkling wine. Then there was a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling wine in the room as well. So we opened the bubble and drank a few glasses on pour porch. We were getting tipsy and so we went to dinner where they gave us two more complementary glassed of bubbly. Goodness gracious. The Royal Nelson is a grand old hotel that has sprawling grounds and buildings to spare. Its old school accoutrements include the Lord Nelson game room, the planet bar, rose gardens and several nice heated pools. We were given an upgrade to a suite cottage with our own planted flower bed.
