We had a full day of travel to get from Malta to Italy. We got up early, ate and were out with our luggage at 9:00 AM to meet our driver. The drive to to the airport was a bit slow due to Malta Traffic but we were still at the airport just before anyone could check in. We flew Ryan air and it went smoothly except we sat in the wrong seats. We had 2D and 2F and we walked on the plane, went to the second row on the left and sat down. We did not notice that the second row of seats was row #3. Oops we felt a bit silly but no harm done. Our flight was to Catania Sicily and it took less than a hour. We had a bit of a wait in Catania and we took this time to have some lunch and walk about the airport. It was a lovely day in Sicily and lots of folks were outside soaking up the sun while waiting for their flights. We were surprised at how few passengers were on this flight, maybe 30 or so. It is a good thing that the flight even took off. Our friend Mara's flight from Malta to Sicily was canceled due to a lack of passengers. She missed an entire day due to this cancelation. This second leg was even shorter and there was only enough time for Leslie to get a glass of water. Nothing for me! We saw a fantastic sunset with the Amalfi coast as a backdrop. We got to our AirBnB and then a quick run to the store for breakfast makings.

All the action is happening in Terminal A
Some nice flowers
The most exciting thing happening is a dust bath for an Italian Sparrow

It looks like Mount Vesuvius as we descend into Salerno
Very impressive
We landed at 7:30 PM just as the sun was setting
The entire area around the airport was covered with greenhouses
