14 April 2025 Salerno: Exploring the Hood

There were spots of rain on and off so we did not want to stray too far out on our neighborhood exploration.  So we just went a few blocks to the east and were rewarded with fantastic flowers and citrus groves.  The climate here is very condusive to floral growth.  We wanted to get some walking in since we did not even leave the place the day earlier.  I caught some sort of bug and was feeling very poorly so all I did was sit and moan all day.  But today I was back in the top quartile and ready to go.

Great planters filled with marginal plastic greenery

Is she dressed in traditional Italian finery?

The back side of the chapel we saw a day ago

If I were still in the business of buying souvenirs this Italy bottle would be in my suitcase...

Another giant mural by the same artist

Little Caesars lawyers will be in contact

A shrine with an encroaching vine behind

A mural to the never ending struggle to hail a taxi

Lemons!  These lemons are considered the best in the world.  The volcanic soil, micro climate makes for a bigger heavier, juicier and tastier lemon.

Wisteria

Are these bottles some sort of fruit fly trap?

A giant bougainvillea tree stretching out all along the top of the fence

Trumpets

A rose that looks like it is glowing red hot

Cumquats

Lots of cumquats

More lemons

A hibiscus

Pink roses

Another block another shrine

Jasmine so sweet smelling

Odd looking ships

Cranes and tall stacks

The ferries are big here

Border collies!
