The weather was not our friend. It had turned windy, rainy and a good 10 degrees colder. We did some wash and when the sun popped out soo too did we. We saw that the fish store was open so we headed over and perused the selection. We bought a nice fish for Leslie and a cuttlefish for me. The only English speaking attendant was heading out for a smoke when we were heading in. She heard me talking, asked if we speak English, I replied yes and she put her cigarette away to help us buy the fish. She grabbed our fish, cleaned them and asked me if I wanted to keep the ink from the cuttlefish. I certainly did want the ink. While she was in there getting the ink sacks she grabbed two odd spheres and told me that these were good eating. After watching a few Youtube videos on how to cook the cuttlefish, it turned out delightful.
Skates
The long fins made these look like flying fish
Very large cuttle fish, my selection
Squids
Red speckles
Frittura, they look like sardines
Another type of squid
The rain came in bands all day long
That made it tough to get the dogs out for their walkies
Rain obscuring the hills across the bay
We bought some delightful tomatoes
Strawberries sold by the pallet
Preserving some lemons
Leslie's dinner
Cuttlefish cooking, the ink did no permanent damage
