25 August 2023 Sunderland: Wrapping things up

Not much has been going on lately.  Mundane things like heading up to Newcastle and buying some replacement clothes for those stained and worn out pieces.  We have also been packing and printing out as much as we can while we still have a printer.  We also packed our biggest bags and are shipping them to Portugal next week.  We are flying RyanAir, a budget airlines notorious for strict baggage controls, so shipping was the cheapest way to go.  We will be traveling to York and Manchester by train so it will be easier not to have the biggest bags with us.  Yesterday and today we have had some nice sunshine so we walked on the beach and along the pier to the lighthouse.   The weather was unsettled with bouts of rain and bright sunshine.  This rewarded us with multiple rainbows, a golden glow sunset and a crescent moon peeking out of the clouds.  Only a few more days here in Sunderland and we really have enjoyed it.

A ship in the morning

An oystercatcher

Cute and waterproof

The murres were out in force

It was a mile out to the lighthouse and the straight path was not taken

The door to the lighthouse was open

So I took a few pictures on the sly

Weather is turning for the worse so it is time to head back

It may be raining soon

Not an animal, just a stupid balloon

But here we have a seal

A fine looking seal at that

Better pick up the pace

After the rain a rainbow

The dogs need to get out while there is a break in the rain

More rainbows

The lighthouse always seems to get a bright light at the end of the day

Fishing with scuba gear

A ship appears to be floating as the water had two distinct layers

Dark blue water, light blue water and the light blue sky

Rainbows everywhere

And a little sailboat

Last rainbow of the day

A nice sunset glow

As the day comes to a close

A crescent moon bids us goodnight

it has been 1 year and 81 days since we began our Migration
