8 August 2023 Edinburgh: Before the Royal Military Tattoo Started

On the grounds of the Edinburgh Castle there was a massive seating area constructed for the performance of the Royal Military Tattoo. We got into the venue around 9 PM,  We had fast track tickets so we did not have to line up.  We had scouted out the location of the entrance earlier so we bee-lined right to where we needed to go.  We walked around the grounds, ,looking at the castle and talking to the ushers.  What a beautiful place

Not everyone got the memo that it was going to be cold

The line behind us

Fires all along the perimeter of the castle

Our open seats to the left

Some fine buildings outside

Arthurs Seat with people hiking on the top

A large cauldron of flame

Some fancy pants

Sweetie!

Burn baby burn

A must expensive whiskey container

Parabolic microphones?

A feather cloud

All lit up

Kilt time

Tam O' Shanter hat

From these castle doors...

Very Important People...

We are not sure exactly how important they are...

But they are dressed for the part!

They walk the whole length of the performance space

At a leisurely pace

To get to their seats

Laughing and hob knobbing the entire way

Swords by their sides

Medals slung around their necks

While we all wait

For the show to start

Who is this, a V-VIP

The head of the British Joint Chiefs of Staff has arrived

The light is fading

Can we just get this show started yet?

It has been 1 year and 64 days since we began our Migration
