The Greyfriars Churchyard is a very important final resting place of many a famous Scott. In fact there are so many luminaries that they have a sign listing all the folks that are interred here. We had passed the gates to this graveyard a few times but never went in there as we did not know if we could get out the other side. This time we saw the gates on the uphill side were open so we went in. We were dumbfounded at the great detail and extensive amount of tombs in this graveyard. By the time we finally reached the bottom gates they were locked! Grrrrr.
Take you pick of authors, poets, mathematicians, architects, booksellers, statesmen, Kings Advocates, historians and raconteurs
