Our foray into local theater continued with a variety show called a Musical Mix Up. It was at the Royalty Theater that is located in yet another new area of Sunderland. We got in our taxi to head over and the driver from the previous evening was our driver today. He recommended the Stumble Inn Pub which is across the street from the theater. We got there very early as the skies were dark and threatening so we popped over to the Stumble Inn for a cuppa tea. We had reservations at a restaurant in the city center but decided to cancel those reservations as we did not want to be rushed. The Royalty Theater was smaller than the Fire House and it was showing its age. The show was also a fundraiser for the Sunderland LGBTQ organization. Part of our ticket price was donated to them. We also bought raffle tickets as well, mostly as a donation. This acting company has been performing for the last 100 years and there were posters all around the walls with memorabilia from the past. They first performed in a Theater that was later bombed in WW2 and then moved to the current location an old church. There were no pictures allowed for the actual show but there were many highlights. First off the best moment of the night was the opening number from the musical "Chicago." This number started out in the standard way. 6 women in lingerie that they say, "Pop, Six, Squish, Uh-uh, Cicero , Lipschitz" and then they sang the first verse of "He Had It Coming." Then the curtain opened and there were six man in lingerie, the ladies exited and the men sang the entire number. So damn funny! They were wearing fish net hose and heels as they sang and danced. Other highlights were a Mother / Daughter act where the mother was singing and the daughter dancing ballet and modern dance. The gents came out for another number, "Gonna Wash that Man out of My Hair" where they were wearing robes and shower caps. The entire second act was had role reversal, women singing songs traditionally sung by men and men singing songs traditionally by women. Great fun!

I paid 4 GBP for what I thought was four tickets
Instead I got four sets of tickets with a devilish 666 ticket on the top of the third
