In the cellar we found the treasury. It houses the armory, the wine cellar and the Crown Jewels. Above is the crown used by Kings Christian V to Christian VIII. It was made in 1671 and it had a total of over 2000 grams of gemstones including diamonds, sapphires and garnets. Some of the stones can be traced back to 1474 and Frederik I. The sheer quantity of gold, silver and gems housed here was mind boggling. Add to that the guns, swords, daggers and other items of destruction and you get a great experience.
Heading down to the cellar
250 silver figurines made for Christian V to practice war games. This was a way to learn tactics and strategy
Elephant on the head, and one on each shoulder, clearly a set of show armor and not functional

Here is the lathe that they used

The horn of Oldenborg. Legend has it that Count Otto was offered a drink from a maiden way back in 989. He poured out the liquid but kept the horn. As legends go this is complete bunk as the horn was not made until 1465!
Rubies and gold with an enamel skull
King Christian IV's crown. It weighs a hefty 2.8 kg! On the front there is a pelican pecking itself to feed its offspring from its blood. Kinda gruesome but every king needs to sacrifice himself for his subjects
Big chalice small cups
Nice rose gold
The order of the elephant is the oldest order in Denmark
What time is it?
Mini altar
Lots of detail
Two more watches
The Queens crown
We were wondering what this was but it turns out to be a sundial with a level and a perpetual calendar scribed into it.
