Wide paths and open grasslands made this stroll in the park a delight. We took the ferry across the river and got off at the first stop. It was just two blocks before we were inside the Anager Faelled. This area was very large and varied. There were forests, grasslands and lakes. Part of it is a nature preserve and part of it is fenced to contain a herd of Highland Cattle. Right off the bat, my Merlin "bird app" identified a greater white-throat. This bird would be new for me but the trees were too dense to really find this bird....maybe next time. We did manage to see a pair of Ring-Necked pheasants, a lifebird and rare in these parts. There were joggers, bike riders, pram pushers and one older gent pushing his walker. We stopped and spoke with him for a bit as he showed off his big cameras. He had two different professional grade cameras in the pockets of his walker. We continued to the lake and sat on a bench lake side. After a while we took off down a wooded path that led to a swamp area. Along with the swamp the path offered up hundreds of mosquitoes! We hightailed it pour of there and back to the open paths. We hot a super market on the way back tot he ferry and the timing was perfect for us to get on the 3:07 ferry. Unfortunately that ferry did not show up! We had to wait another half hour for the next one to arrive and int heat time the clouds built up and some rain fell on us. Luckily the next ferry showed up and we got back to the house still dry. Dinner and a show and then we saw a great sunset.
