We woke up to chilly weather. The wind was up and the temperature was in the 50's. Leslie started her Zumba playlist and I bundled up and did a 3 mile speed walk around the neighborhood. Later we headed to the Tivoli for two different concerts. Wednesday is Jazz night at the Tivoli and we watched Mathias Heise a Danish jazz musician and composer. He plays a mean harmonica and along with the band they played a Swedish themed set. All the songs were either Swedish compositions or played in the style of a Swedish version of a jazz standard. I missed some of the show while searching for my Shawarma dinner. Then it was off to the Koncertsal for a full symphonic treatment of Holst's "Planets" and a suite of "Star Wars" music. It was presented by the Lyngby-Taarbaek Symfoniorkester a huge 90 person ensemble. Give or take a few musicians, we think that there were 93 folks up on stage at one point. I counted 15 bass and celloists. 38 violinists, 6 percussionists, 2 harpists, 4 oboe players, 1 tuba player, 4 flutists, 6 French horns, one contrabassoon, 3 bassoons, 3 trombones, 4 trumpets. What a great time!
