Adventure with the elephants in Laos part 1

Our driver came to get us at 8 a.m. to take us to the Elephant Village. We drove about a half hour out to the facility. The scenery was incredible we drove up into the mountains on a winding road that turns to gravel road to turns to a dirt track.  Their mission is to rescue elephants after they've been injured or when they arr getting older. The logging industry that uses the elephants is pretty hard on them. The facility has a hospice and a hospital for elephants and they had one little baby that you'll hear about later.  Our English speaking guide Thone is also going law school!  Congrats to you Thone.
