We arrived at the Hanoi airport in a torrential downpour. Luckily we were allowed to go to the first class lounge and wait for our plane. We had to take a bus out to our plane, which was a turboprop. We walked from the bus to the plane in the rain. Well we got a little wet but it cooled us down nicely. We flew to Laos in just over an hour. The plane decended out of the clouds into the Mekong River Valley. It w as more like a canyon amongst very tall mountains with the river snaking out below us. The airport at Luang Prabang is very quaint. We had to use the steps attached to the plane. We got through immigration and customs all in all about half an hour.
