Arrival in Vietnam

Our arrival in Vietnam was as free and easy as you could imagine. only one half hour we made it through customs, got our luggage, zipped through immigration, bought 2 New Zealand Merlots, found the sigb with our name on it and got into the car. Then it got a little dicey I don't want to say he was the worst driver in the world because we are still alive but he was not good.  We had small trucks pass us, we had large trucks pass us, when the scooters started passing us it was hard to take.   When the 3 hour trip was well into the 4th hour Leslie looked over at me and asked if we had bitten off too much.  Then we passed over a large bridge and it seemed like we were going to be there soon.  But 5 minutes later we were passing the same bridge going back over the other way!  15 minutes later we pass back over the bridge again.   We are getting closer and our guide is calling the driver again and again.   Two more false starts and we are at the dock!  Almost 5 hours for a three hour drive.

Items of note, the houses are tall and narrow.  Rice farmers dry rice on the raod when they have no other place to dry it.
