Google maps can be deceiving, there may be a name on the map
but there is not necessarily a town on the ground where that name is
located. There was a Doe Bay, on the far
eastern side, but the resort area was closed off due to a private event. All we got to see what a fire house which is where we
had to turn around. There was a town
called Olga but besides an Art Gallery there was nothing but houses. The Art Gallery was very nice and there were
some 40 artists in the co-operative.
Leslie found a book mark to mark the spot. We drove to Obstruction Pass State park and
the washboard dirt road was so bad that turned around. We have not seen such a bad road since we drove the back roads of Missouri. I ended up driving around 5 MPG to minimize the shaking of our kidneys. We were gob smacked to see an open top
roadster from thew 30’s drive out of a drive way in front of us and zoomed off,
on the bad road, like it was nothing. Later
we saw a car that had its body removed and a boat hull attached! It also drove off at a high rate of speed. They have the oddest cars here. Continuing our explorations, we went to
Rosario Point. Lots of entertainment here,
mostly we got to watch some awkward boat maneuvering. We stopped off in Eastsound to see some of
the town and we were delighted. We saw
three small children busking with violins. We stopped in various shops and got beer and sundries.
