We left Orcas Island by ferry and arrived back on the mainland. We gassed up on that cheaper mainlander gas and got on the highway. It had been some time since I was last on a real highway. This reminds me of a wise saying JOE strain used to share with us. There are two kinds of drivers, Crazy and Idiots. The crazy drivers are driving faster then we are and the idiot drivers are driving slower. We got nice views of Mt. Baker and then Rainier as we drove further south. Our Destination was Tim Radtke's house in Lynwood. First the house; a sea view, very spacious, festooned with very cool art pieces and lovely dogs. The exterior was impeccably landscaped with shrubs, flowers and very cool trees. Next the dinner that Tim fixed was superb. Grilled veggies including eggplant, zucchini and patty pan squash, A salad with garbanzos, peppers, parsley, cucumbers, tomatoes and it would have avocadoes but I forgot to add it. We had grilled salmon that was al dente, and very tasty. We drank Italian wine and a fine digestive. It may have been 45 years since we had seen each other but we picked right up where we had left off.
