The Empress is a fancy place as the service set above demonstrates. This is certainly the place in Victoria to have a formal tea and Leslie is certainly the one to have this tea with. It is our 33rd Anniversary and our 19th and our 18th depending on which metric one chooses to measure our relationship. 33 years in a relationship, 19 years legally married and 18 years after our epic wedding blow out in Maine. We put on our fanciest clothes and sauntered down to the dining room. Our reservation was for 11:30 and we were surprised to see all the 11:00 folks slurping and snacking away. We were pampered by Guy who kept us hydrated, brought us all the tea drinking accoutrements and the finest of teas. We had to ask for a different table from the one they first gave us. My knees were taller than the table and there was palm fronds in my face, so we got a real table instead and it was just perfect after that.
