The Captain Whidbey Inn's main building was constructed in 1907. It was made from logs and stone found onsite. There are an additional 30 historic rooms and cabins that sit on 6 acres. Our room looks out over the lagoon and the old growth fir trees. The sun was shining bright and we soaked it all in. First from the Adirondack chairs by the lagoon. Then to the rocking chairs on our porch. Birthday parties and a puppy training sessions rounded up the pre dinner festivities. Our table at dinner was a window into the world of Whidbey Islanders. Captain Whidbey is a beautiful and splendid place. The front desk gave us a smores kit that we used to make smores,
We got into our room
And headed right back out
to bask in the sun
And soak in the beauty
A great day in Whidbey
expansive grounds
Rocking our cares away
Out the window
Our Cabin
The puppy show
Lots of flowers
A knot looking back at me
Peek a boo
Bid bed of daises
minimalist lodgings
Dinner at the perfect window
Fish n chips
Idyllic views
A make your own smores pack
They were tasty and good
It has been 34 days since we began our Migration.
