The lighthouse was a very popular place. It is special in many ways, geographically, spiritually and photogenically. This was our last stop on the bespoke Goncalo Tour of the Sintra Area. We explored all around and watched the sun go down. The winds picked up as the sunlight diminished and we were chilly as we climbed back into the jeep. The clouds were hanging low as we drove back to Sintra. We got into town and hopped on a train back to Lisbon.
A quick smooch to start it all off
The sun is not all the way down yet
This is the lighthouse we saw from afar
A big cross
Our shadows
More rugged coastline
Here is a path
But we did not take the path, it was closed
The tiny beach nestled in the rocks
These folks did not heed the trail closed sign
Here are those folks bottom left
The magic hour!
Gancalo in a reflective moment
A great picture

Back towards where we were with the Jeep
Lovely
Let the countdown to the sun set begin
The gang is all here
The wind is picking up

Watching for the green flash
The last rays of light in Europe
Let the exodus begin
We jump into the back of the jeep
The clouds are rolling in over the mountains
A chilly drive back to town
