The bus ride to the top was insane. We tried to squeeze in but no one was giving us any room. The bus driver started telling everyone to move further back but not much happened until Omar got the process moving. It was a tight fit for the bus on the uphill switchbacks. This road had markings indicating that it was a two way road, if so it would have been impossible with this bus driving on it. The grounds were extensive and we hiked to three or four places. The view above was seen from on top of a large rock us by the cross, Curz Alta.
Just like sardines without the olive oil and salt
The entrance way
The palace peeks out from the trees
Off we go
This arch was cool but we never made it to the trail on the top
Very tranquil
Stop and smell the lillies
A gazebo to hike to
The knight on the hill
Up on high
We were stumped as to what this might be, lights?
we had the trail mostly to ourselves. We did bump into a pair of young women what were giving us ratings on the places as they got to them before we did
Big groups of rocks
No real view of the palace from here
Many trees in the way
We tried to take some fancy panoramas
These flowers were beautiful
The trees are very tall
Juan Carlos
Friends, Romans, Countrymen
Getting some better glimpses
The cross
A river off in the distance
Treacherous steps
We could see the sea
And the palace
Omar flexing up at Cruz Alta
Spores
Ferns
Beaches
Towers
Mushrooms
