13 September 2023 Lisbon: On the Tagus River in an Antique Boat

We started the day heading to the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon to have lunch at Obeco.  It was a great lunch with many authentic Portuguese dishes.  It was right by the Museum of Fado and many of the bars advertised that Fado was performed at each bar.  We walked from there to the waterfront where we were to board our Sail boat trip.  The Terrerio do Paco, the building that houses all of the boat excursion offices and leads to the docks, is a thing of beauty.  They have a little museum there, great tile frescos all around the large open space and of course a gift shop.  We boarded our antique sailing ship, not without some drama with Omar and a woman who decided to block his advance towards the boat.  This boat was one of only seven remaining boats of its type.  It was build in Lisbon sometime in the 1700's and is still in great shape.  The day was clear with a nice breeze on the water, just perfect for a day trip on the Tagus River.  Later, after a hot custard tart,  we headed home and finished our leftovers for our dinner.
