Cascais is to the west of Lisbon that is on the water. The water is specifically the water of the Atlantic Ocean and not the Tagus River. Having just recently found out that I have been directionally mixed up, thinking the flow of the Tagus was in the West to East which is the wrong direction. Perhaps I just got the North and South mixed up? We took the metro for 45 minutes and got to this quaint beach town. We wandered thru the town and looked at the wares for sale. Lots of tiny shops and stands stood all along the crooked pedestrian street, our walk to the beach. We megandered to the Fort-like structure at the waters edge and then found an art district. Many artists had galleries here and we popped into each one. This caused us to work up a strong thirst for day drinking and a hunger for lunch consumption. It took a while to find a place that had all of our requirements: a view, a breeze and a Portuguese menu. When we finally settled on a place that we saw from across Dom Pedro I's square. We had hit the jackpot with the guesthouse restaurant at the Vila Cascais (https://www.villacollection.pt/reservadavilla/)!
