28 September 2023 Lisbon: A Fantistaico Lunch

We had wandered around the neighborhood and saw several large buildings within a theater complex.  These building appeared to be brand new but in the back was a restaurant that seemed to be a holdover from bygone days.  It was called A Gina and we looked it up on the interweb when we got back.  We liked it so much that we canceled the Wednesday lunch that we had planned and replaced it with a lunch here on Thursday.  We were glad that we did the swap since the food here was fantastico!  Leslie ordered a veal scallopini and I ordered a veal shank.   She had five nice medallions of veal on a huge plate with fries and a small salad and I got a humongous hunk of meat bigger than my head.  The menu stated that the veal shank was 2 kg which is 4.4 pounds.  This may seem like a huge amount of meat but really it was much more!  It was Thursday's lunch and dinner and Fridays lunch and dinner as well.  I am stuffed.  The meat was so tender and flavorful that I would willingly eat it again for Saturday but we will be on a plane to Italy and I the shank would exceed the carry on size

During our morning tea we heard the sounds of a field trip

Stairs was the theme of this building, stairs in silhouette here

The bottoms of stairs here

More stairs!

Huge doors that open up as well as a garage type door on the right

Empty but not for long

Greenery on the walls

How it looked in the olden days

A funky cool vibe

Signature water

The beast has arrived at the table!

This would have fed us both

This would have fed an entire family

Some damage was inflicted

Waddling out past the phonebooth

We wanted to ride a trolly so we took off walking

This one has no line...

But here is where the line was and it was just as long out of the frame.

So we pretended to ride insteaad

Took a few new paths home

It was really heating up

It was 86 degrees and we decided to call it a day

Love the details

On our walk we came across this worker

Chipping stones to the needed size

and placing them in the proper position

All of the sidewalks were made this way

Stone by stone

It has been 1 year and 115 days since we began our Migration
