We arrived at the valley of the Kings and took a kind of big golf cart up to the openings of the tombs. We started with King Tutankhamun. The mummy of Tutankhamun is still in the crypt. The authorities planned on moving it to Cairo but the people of Luxor did not what that to happen. They formed a human blockade and prevented any of the officials from getting to the tomb. So the mummy and the sarcophagus remain in place. It required a separate ticket and only 10 folks were allowed in at a time. So we toured, took pictures and then left so others could get in as well. Although we did not go straight to Howard Carter's house directly from the tomb, I am adding it to this post anyway

Tut's tomb is rather small as it was not the tomb that was originally built for Tut
It is a good thing that his mummy is still in the dry and cool place and not in hot humid Cairo
That way the mummy stays in good condition
