We had lunch out at the East Coast Hawker Center which was not all that much. Then we headed back for our much anticipated Happy Hour at the Mott 32. Zan was there and he served up four new gins for us to put into the gin book. Iron Balls, Brass Lion (a Singapore gin), Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin and Nouaison Gin. Each was from a different country, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and France in the same order as the gins were listed. At Mott 32 they have a signature ice cube, but it is not a cube, it is a rectangular prism. It is fine for the larger whiskey glasses but it is too large for the gin glasses. So Zan has to chip away at the ice and then shave it so that it would fit. It was fun to watch. He sent us some hot peanuts that has chili flakes in the mix as well as Sichuan peppercorns, the kind that make you tongue go numb. After our drinks we went back to the the pool deck on the 57th floor for a fine sunset.
Chop chop. Shave shave.
