24 January 2024 George Town: Waking up in a New Town

The beds were comfortable and we slept well.  Unfortunately at 7:18 am a Asian Koel made itself known.  This bird has a very loud call that echos off all the tall buildings around our place.  Leslie piled a few pillows on her head and went back to sleep.  I got up out of bed already feeling refreshed.  There were new birds just outside our balcony and I was able to see four new lifebirds.  The AirBnB was not well stocked with kitchen tools so later we went right back to the mall down the street and got a frying pan, a pair of mugs to drink out of, an oven mitt, and more.  We got some lunch at Din Thai Fung in the second mall which is much bigger and only five minutes further down the street.  We had build up a large amount of laundry and decided a laundry service was the more efficient way of getting it all clean.  So we walked over to a laundry, $12 for 14 pounds of laundry.  We got back and cooked up the whole chicken for dinner.  The wings, legs and thighs were for dinner and the backbone was cooked for soup to eat over the next few days.  We froze the breasts.
