9 January 2023 Cairo: Saqqara!

 


Almost an hour outside of Cairo, to the south, is Saqqara the largest necropolis in Egypt.  It is also the birthplace of the pyramid.  The Pharoah Dozer had  the first pyramid but it was a stepped pyramid bit an actual pyramid.  They had to make 9 pyramids until they settled on the correct angle and square base.

They had extra stone as supports


We are in front of the pyramid where the pharaoh would have to race a bull to show he was fit enough to be a pharaoh

No mummy in the sarcogophas


The granite was brought from hundreds of miles away


The alabaster is translucent


The blue hieroglyphics are from the so called Book of the Dead


The name of the Pharaoh


He is Pharaoh Hopping Bunny,  no not really
