Being a Royal is great while it lasts. In Egypt no expense was spared when it came to fancy bling. The amount of gems, gold and other precious metal on display is simply amazing. There were diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, aquamarine, lapis lazuli all set in gold, silver and platinum. Of course pearls, coral and enamel accented many of the pieces.

This was a brooch that we saw on a portrait of Queen Farida seen below
All smiles and jewels getting married to King Farouk in 1938. But she only gave birth to daughters so they divorced in 1948. This proved unpopular in Egypt and the King got publicly hissed at during his appearance at the cinema. Even worse he refused to support the third daughter.

The hilt of a dagger
From the days where all pearls were real
Different colored gold and one big blue stone to the left. We can only imagine that stone was in the brooch to the right

On the bases on the white pieces were portraits
On the bases of the black pieces were places around the world
Each one was bejeweled and shiny with enamel
This is a royal mystery, perhaps the king's olive cocktail sword?
