12 January 2024 Luxor: The Tomb of Ramses IV

Our ticket allowed us to visit three tombs but we would have had to rush through them so we decided to do two and linger in Ramses IV tomb longer.  It also had a long entry passage but the burial chamber survived much better than Merenpath's did.

The initial entrance has also been damaged by flooding

The Sarcophagus is in good shape

With names and spells written all over it

Here is Nut in full color glory

In the chamber all the decorations are bright and clean and the sarcophagus is very detailed

So much to say

A glorious vulture

Cartouches on the ceiling

The walls and ceiling are all decked out

Anubis on the sarcophagus

Nut's feet

We are amazed once again

Everybody loves a boat ride

Nut eating the sun, it seems like every day

The hieroglyphic zoo

Possibly the name of the pharaoh

So many deities

Very neat penmanship

Sharing the tomb with so many ancient people

Old Coptic markings

More old time graffiti

It has been 1 year and 221 days since we began our Migration
