15 January 2024 Kom Ombo: Sunset Peek at Kom Ombo


One last temple of the day.  We took the c ship downriver to get to Kon Ombo to see this temple and the crocodile museum.  


Kom Ombo is sighted!


It is a traffic jam


This guy will hold onto the boat for us

This is doum a type of fruit known to help diabetes


Kom Ombo looms large


This temple is unique in that it is shared by Horus the falcon god of the sky and Sobek the crocodile god that is thought to have created the earth


The two sides are mirror images so an not to offend either god


Some parts were disassembled and the stone used to build a sugar cane factory


Ahmed is as entertaining as ever
