Historic Waterways of New York 8 July 2021 Lodi NY
We started in Saratoga Springs and drove through a bit of drizzle here and a bit of drizzle there. We saw dark clouds along the drive but never had to drive through any prolonged rain. NY Route 20 was our roadway of choice. The GPS seemed to think that there was a better path for us to follow but Route 20 was our lucky route and we were sticking to it. Several times we would drive up on freshly wetted streets without ever seeing the rain that caused it. We were in awe of the large and ornate buildings along the drive. We passed a sign for the Erie Canal Historic Region. We also saw lock systems along the various rivers. As we pushed deeper into the lakes regions we also started to see lots of boats. Docks were placed everywhere possible and we also saw a makeshift boat-park in the weeds section. Our lodgings in Lodi New York was a perfect little bungalow on the shore of Seneca Lake. Its clean, tidy, comfortable, equipped, functional and romantic. It was the prize of our drive through old New York State.
We love you Route 20!
Full on Lake view
The glint of a lake here and there
Cazenovia town
Picking the veggies
Sing the Blues
Peas please, and eggs and
Silo, silo, its down 20 we go
Patches of green and gold
Grand house
Grand entrance
Say that three times fast
May we have some tea?
Almost there and now it rains
Dried off the chairs
