Stanley Park is a green gem of a park in the middle of Vancouver. There is a one-way perimeter road that our driver took us along by mistake, what a treat for us, a free tour of the park. It is heavily forested with huge red cedar trees which look like mini redwoods. We were early so we strolled down to 3rd beach. It was a bit overcast so the population density was low compared to a sunny day. There were bikers, joggers, walkers, swimmers, birds, racoons and us. I saw huge container ships, medium fishing vessels, a sleek yacht, smaller power boats and an open canoe. Full utilization of all the recreational possibilities was realized. There was a wedding going on the lawn of the Teahouse and we watched the preparation while we were waiting for our table. Everyone was so dressed up and the little kids were especially cute. We were going to Stanley Park anyway but when we saw the Teahouse we imagined a formal high tea with all the scones and tasty treats. That was all in our heads, not on the menu of the Teahouse.. A couple GnT's and a charcuterie board later and we are happy as clams. Once we were done I scheduled a rideshare but it was going to take a while so we strolled some more. The wedding was taking place but it soon started to rain. We beat a track back to the Teahouse to wait for the ride in the dry indoors. Dry from the rain but wet from another GnT. The ride back gave us another look at the different parts of Vancouver. What a great day!
